One of our scouts favorite activities is to “Go Fishing” and the fish definitely were biting at Camp TRJ during summer camp so they decided they wanted to go back and catch more fish! Next Saturday morning, Troop 771 will travel to Camp Trevor Rees Jones and stay at a campsite close to the lake and endeavor to catch as many fish as possible while still practicing catch & release. Scouts will meet at the scout barn early Saturday morning at 6:45a and load up for the 90 minute drive to Athens, TX. They are staying overnight and returning on Sunday around noon.

At Tuesday night’s Troop meeting, Scouts will learn & practice casting with a rod and reel and share tips on how to catch the biggest fish.

This is a great opportunity to earn the Fishing Merit Badge.
