USS Lexington Campout

Spend the night aboard the USS Lexington WWII Aircraft Carrier in Corpus Christi, TX.

We will leave Saturday morning early and drive to the USS Lexington and spend the night aboard the ship in the sailors bunks. There is a $75 fee for this trip which includes meals aboard the ship but scouts will need money for lunch to/from while traveling.

An overnight adventure awaits your Scout group when you stay the night aboard USS Lexington, a mighty, record-setting World War II aircraft carrier-turned museum located on Corpus Christi Bay. You’ll hear stories from the ship’s illustrious past—covering topics like kamikaze and torpedo attacks, the manpower it takes to navigate an aircraft carrier, and being named the “Blue Ghost” by Tokyo Rose herself. The chapters of this living history lesson unfold over 11 different levels within the ship, giving curious minds a hands-on experience that reflects on the sacrifices made by a heroic generation, builds camaraderie, inspires love of learning, and is just plain fun!
